SIP Calculator Online
Estimate how a regular Systematic Investment Plan may grow over time, or calculate the monthly SIP needed for a future target.
Plan your SIP growth
Enter a monthly amount, expected annual return and duration.
This is an assumption for illustration, not a guaranteed return.
Advanced option
Optional: increase the SIP amount once every 12 months. Keep it at 0% for a fixed SIP.
Estimated SIP Value
Based on the assumptions entered.
For education and planning only. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and not guaranteed. Actual results can differ because returns do not remain constant.
Year-wise Projection
Illustrative values based on the same fixed return assumption.

What Is a SIP Calculator?
A SIP Calculator is an online planning tool that estimates how regular investments made through a Systematic Investment Plan may grow over time. Enter the amount you plan to invest every month, an assumed annual rate of return and the investment duration. The calculator then shows the total amount invested, estimated growth and projected future value.
A SIP is a method of investing a fixed amount at regular intervals. The calculator does not predict market performance. It only creates an illustration from the assumptions you enter.
How to Use This SIP Calculator
- Choose SIP Returns when you know how much you want to invest every month.
- Enter your monthly SIP amount.
- Enter an assumed annual return rate.
- Select how many years you plan to continue the SIP.
- If required, open Advanced option and add a yearly SIP step-up percentage.
- Check the estimated invested amount, growth and projected value shown instantly.
What Is Goal SIP Mode?
Goal SIP works in reverse. Instead of starting with a monthly investment amount, you enter the future amount you want to estimate for, along with the duration and assumed return. The calculator then estimates the starting monthly SIP that would be required under those assumptions.
When a yearly step-up is selected, the calculator assumes the monthly SIP increases by that percentage after every 12 months. The starting SIP shown is therefore lower than it would be with a fixed SIP, but the later instalments become higher.
How Is the SIP Estimate Calculated?
This calculator converts the assumed annual return into an effective monthly rate and applies monthly compounding. For a fixed SIP with contributions treated as being made at the beginning of each monthly period, the standard future-value relationship can be written as:
- P = monthly SIP amount
- i = effective monthly return rate
- n = total number of monthly instalments
The effective monthly rate is calculated from the annual assumption as (1 + annual rate)^(1/12) - 1. If a step-up is selected, the calculator projects each monthly contribution individually so the changing SIP amount can be included.
Why Your Actual SIP Return May Be Different
Real mutual fund returns do not increase at one fixed rate every month or every year. Markets can rise or fall, fund expenses can affect results, and the timing of cash flows may differ. Because of this, the figures shown here should be treated as estimates for planning and comparison, not promised returns.
Fixed SIP vs Step-up SIP
Fixed SIP
The monthly investment stays the same for the full duration. Keep the yearly step-up at 0% to use this method.
Step-up SIP
The monthly investment increases once every year by the percentage you select. For example, a step-up setting changes future instalments over time, so both the total invested amount and projected value change.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this SIP Calculator free?
Yes. You can use the calculator without creating an account.
Are the returns shown guaranteed?
No. The result is only an estimate based on the annual return assumption entered in the calculator. Mutual fund returns are market-linked and can be higher, lower or negative over some periods.
Can I calculate the SIP needed for a target amount?
Yes. Open the Goal SIP tab, enter the target amount, assumed annual return and duration. The calculator will estimate the starting monthly SIP under those assumptions.
What does yearly SIP step-up mean?
It means increasing the monthly SIP amount by a chosen percentage once every 12 months. This tool supports an optional step-up in both SIP Returns and Goal SIP modes.
Why can this result differ from another SIP calculator?
Different calculators may use different assumptions for converting annual returns into monthly rates, contribution timing, rounding or step-up treatment. Those choices can produce slightly different estimates even when the visible inputs look similar.
Does the calculator include taxes, fund expenses or inflation?
No. The projection is a simplified illustration. It does not automatically include taxes, fund-specific costs, inflation or changing market returns.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The layout is responsive and is designed for mobile, tablet and desktop browsers.
Final Words
The Surfingskill SIP Calculator gives you a simple way to compare different SIP amounts, durations and assumed returns. Use the normal SIP mode to estimate a future corpus, or switch to Goal SIP when you want to estimate the monthly amount needed for a target. The year-wise table can help you understand how contributions and projected growth may change over time.
